Tailgating in Nashville is more than just parking an RV; it’s a full-blown pre-game party filled with music, barbecue, and camaraderie. Whether you’re gearing up for a Titans game at Nissan Stadium or catching the energy of a college football showdown at Vanderbilt, having the right spot makes all the difference. Below, discover Nashville’s best RV tailgating locations, insider tips for snagging a prime site, and how to make the most of your RV rental for tailgating Nashville.
1. Nissan Stadium RV Lots
Nissan Stadium, home to the Tennessee Titans, offers multiple dedicated RV tailgating areas just steps from the entrance. Key features include:
RV Lot A (North End)
- Proximity: Closest to the main gates—ideal if you want a front-row spot for pre-game activities.
- Hookups: 30-amp electrical available (pay-per-use meter stations). Arrive early to secure one.
- Capacity: Holds approximately 200 RVs—lots fill up by 8 AM on game days.
- Pit Stop: Portable restrooms and hand-washing stations; limited potable water taps.
Tip: Reserve an online parking pass ahead of time. On game day, all RVs entering Lot A must display a valid pass on the dashboard.
RV Lot C (East Lawn)
- Proximity: A bit farther from the stadium but offers larger spaces—great for groups with elaborate setups.
- Entertainment: Often features live local bands on a small stage, adding extra excitement to the tailgate atmosphere.
- Food Trucks: Select vendors park near Lot C, meaning you can grab Nashville hot chicken or BBQ without leaving your chairs.

2. Vanderbilt University Facilities
While Vanderbilt doesn’t officially have a formal RV tailgating lot, dedicated spaces on the Commons and nearby church parking lots cater to Commodores fans. Consider these options:
University Commons (Walk-up Lot)
- Permits: Daily permits required for lots adjacent to Vanderbilt Stadium. Check the Vanderbilt Athletics website for detailed parking maps and pricing.
- Walking Distance: Approximately 5–10 minutes to Dudley Field—perfect for fans who want a quick jaunt to the game.
- Neighborhood Vibe: Several off-campus apartment complexes host unofficial tailgate gatherings—expect lawn games, charcoal grills, and acoustic guitars.
Nearby Church Lots
- First Baptist Nashville: Opens their large lot at 6 AM on game days. Paid parking supports church programs, so it’s a feel-good choice.
- West End United Methodist: A short 15-minute walk to the stadium—often less crowded than university lots.
Tip: Arrive before 7 AM to secure a flat, level spot—lots can be hilly, requiring leveling blocks for stability. Review our RV preparation tips to ensure your vehicle is stay-ready.
3. Local Breweries & Distilleries with RV Parking
Nashville’s craft-beer and whiskey culture blends perfectly with tailgating. Several breweries offer game-day parking packages:
Yazoo Brewing Company (East Nashville)
- RV Parking: Limited spots available on-site with no hookups—arrive early or coordinate with brewery staff for reserved spaces.
- Pre-Game Specials: Brisket nachos, draft beer flights, and occasional food trucks in the parking lot.
- Shuttle Service: On select game days, Yazoo partners with a shuttle company to transport tailgaters to Nissan Stadium for a nominal fee.
East Nashville Beer Works
- Permits: Partner with nearby Episcopal church—RV tailgaters can park in church lot (permit required) and walk to the brewery.
- Atmosphere: Family-friendly vibe with bag toss games, cornhole, and rotating local food trucks.

4. Gallatin & Hendersonville Tailgate Hubs
If you’re renting in Gallatin or Hendersonville and want to avoid downtown congestion, head to these more relaxed tailgating spots:
Kings River Marina (Hendersonville)
- Scenic Setting: Right on Old Hickory Lake—tailgate by the water with a view of Nashville’s skyline in the distance.
- Full Hookups: 30-amp electrical and potable water available—book the marina lot in advance for game-day spaces.
- Water Activities: Kayak rentals, fishing charters, and a bait shop on-site—perfect for pre-game relaxation.
Gallatin Fairgrounds
- Event Parking: Large grassy lots accommodate up to 100 RVs; check parking fees and permit process on Sumner County’s website.
- Proximity: Approximately 25 miles from Nissan Stadium, but Gallatin’s downtown offers restaurants and breweries—make it a weekend getaway rather than a day trip.

5. Tailgating Tips & Etiquette
Securing a premium RV tailgating spot requires foresight, patience, and a dose of Nashville hospitality. Follow these best practices:
Arrive Early & Pack Light
- Early Bird Gets the Hookup: For highly coveted lots, arrive by 6 AM—8 AM at the latest—to claim a flat, level site with a clear view.
- Portable Gear: Bring collapsible chairs, a lightweight folding table, and a compact grill. Avoid bulky items that restrict maneuvering space in crowded lots.
Respect Your Neighbors
- Keep Noise in Check: From 9 PM–7 AM, most lots enforce quiet hours. Use portable Bluetooth speakers at moderate volume during pre-game festivities.
- Trash & Recycling: Pack out what you pack in; many tailgating areas lack convenient trash receptacles. Have trash bags handy for easy cleanup.
Stay Safe & Legal
- No Open Flames: Check each lot’s fire rules—some prohibit charcoal grills and allow only propane stoves with safety stands.
- Alcohol Regulations: Tennessee’s open-container laws still apply. Keep coolers in the RV, and use plastic cups instead of glass to avoid fines or injuries.
- Pet Policies: If tailgating with a dog, ensure they’re on a leash, hydrated, and have a shaded rest spot. Clean up after your pet to keep lots clean.
6. Essential Tailgating Gear Checklist
- Collapsible Table & Chairs: Compact sets save space and pack away easily.
- Portable Grill or Propane Stove: Check lot rules—propane stoves are generally safer and allowed more often.
- Cooler with Ice Packs: Keep drinks cold without relying on noisy, power-consuming RV fridges.
- Bluetooth Speaker: Compact, battery-operated units maintain atmosphere without requiring hookups.
- Flashlights & Headlamps: Essential for late-night navigation back to your RV.
- Trash Bags & Recycling Bags: Carry out everything—Nashvillians appreciate clean spaces.
- Portable Fan or Space Heater: Depending on season, for additional comfort inside or outside your RV.

Customer Reviews

He was great and treated us wonderful
Great experience

Point of advice for future renters: you are not reimbursed for any unused mileage on the rental. I made the mistake of over-estimating the mileage to mitigate any mileage charge on the return; however, I quickly learned that was not the case. Money down the drain for proactive thinking. Next time, I’ll only use the provided mileage estimate cost, and incur the exact additional cost in the return. Even with this lesson learned, I will still use them for future needs!

We decided we didn’t need to keep looking
His knowledge of the RVs and how they work for us new time renters made us feel so secure and have peace of mind .
Thanks Beau we can’t wait to start this journey.
Marjorie and Ron

Special thanks to Beau for the great attention and help throughout our visit. Highly recommend!

The staff, specifically Bo, were ready on standby for any questions or hiccups we encountered with the RV during our trip, and his kindness extended thru to the exact moment we returned the RV. These people genuinely want you to have the best time you can in their vehicles. Highly recommended!

We give him 5+ stars!

Finance guy, Brian is a pleasure to work with. He cuts to the chase and doesn’t try to sell you more than you need!
Serviceman, Nate is simply the best!
Everyone else that we came into contact with during our visits to Nashville RV are super friendly!
Overall, great experience from start to finish…except the heat! 🙃
It has already been dog approved!

Thank you, Tim & Sheri from Wyoming

Garrett was very thorough when explaining the ins and outs of the RV and how to make sure all fours tires stay in contact with roads.
Would definitely recommend going through Garrett if you are considering renting an RV.

He was patient and understanding while we fumbled through the process, but ultimately was a professional about the whole experience. Bottom line, I wanna party with this guy…. And rent my RV’s from him

We highly recommend Nashville RV, and plan to use them again in the future.

Unit was clean, gassed up, tanks filled, ready to go. All required cords, hoses, etc were provided. Everything worked well and well maintained. Great rental experience. Thanks!

Sales Rep meets me on parking area. Calls a service representative from their other building. He begins to check it out. Another service rep joins him. Diagnose the problem. Gets us on the road. AND won't take a dime for jacking our right rear jack back up fully to the necessary place. Week retraction springs.
Highly recommend for their friendly fast knowledgeable service.

we pulled into this business, a service representative immediately came to our motorhome to find out our needs. Eventually there were three servicemen working to get us back on the road. EXTREMELY friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you. I would highly recommend Nashville RV in
Franklin.

The motor home was outfitted with everything we could have possibly needed. Easy to drive. Easy to set up. Highly recommended!
Garrett & Brad showed us everything we needed to know. Checking Out & Checking In took no time at all. The team had everything waiting for us with levels all topped off and full instructions on use. We had 24/7 access to a technician if needed. OUTSTANDING!!

Garrett and Brad were outstanding during the entire process from sharing options for rentals and prices, demonstrating the use of the vehicles, and following up on the overall experience.
My family and I were thrilled to make fun-filled memories using Nashville RV Rentals!

Highly recommend them, and renting an RV first if you’re considering ownership, especially if you’re newbies like we were. It really helps to show what you like and dislike so you can make a decision that’s right for you.
Brad and Garrett were awesome - go see them before you go on your RV Adventure!

Motivates me to run my business better!
RV’s were competitively priced too and basically brand new.
Look no further.

Even went home and returned with the wife to look around. No pressure and no sales pitches. We will definitely be back.

Also, Brad in the rental department is just as courteous and easy to deal with!
I won't be going anywhere else for a camper from here on.

They even have folks that will set up your rig at the campsite. We've used them close to a dozen times. They have earned our continued business. Wish I could give them six stars. Make sure you talk to them before you rent anywhere else.
I highly recommend phoning them if you are considering an RV trip!

They went over everything needed (and more) for our smokey mountain long weekend. All was easy from pick up to drop off. They actually answer phone during off hours! Huge plus on service. We'll be back for sure!

There is a reason they continue to have rave reviews online.
Thanks again and happy RVing!

For any other first-timers: the orientation is adequate, but brief. I'd encourage you to view YouTube tutorials as well before showing up for your rental and/or just filming the key parts of the orientation, as the manual is pretty slim. But, assuming those precautions, Nashville RV is a full-service, one-stop shop to get you safely on the open road--especially first-timers.

Garrett was very helpful and was even able to get us a one day extension to enjoy our trip. This place is top notch. We will definitely be back for our next RV rental. A heads up that this place is a little more expensive than somewhere like Cruise America but I feel like you get better service, a better RV and better coverage so it is worth it.
